  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and interpret business and data requirements

  • Offering actionable insights and solution recommendations grounded in client needs, organisational context, and industry best practices

  • Translating product vision and epics into user stories and acceptance criteria, and maintaining an up-to-date product backlog

  • Working closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure user stories and data-driven tasks are delivered in line with the product vision and agreed timelines

  • Understanding the business rationale behind each requirement and helping align delivery with global objectives and specific feature or data outcomes

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, with exposure to data analysis responsibilities

  • Proven ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable solution requirements, expressed in a way that enables engineering teams to deliver effectively against the product vision

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate insights and requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Solid understanding of software development planning techniques, particularly within Agile Scrum environments

  • Familiarity with standard business analysis practices, tools and deliverables, including process modelling, requirements documentation and stakeholder mapping

  • Strong analytical mindset with a structured, self-directed approach to problem-solving, including the ability to work with data to support recommendations

  • Experience in measuring and reporting on product iteration outcomes, using both qualitative feedback and quantitative data

  • Experience in the insurance industry is desirable

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
