As a Business Administrator – Damage Cost Recovery, you’ll be at the heart of a high-performing team, ensuring that financial recoveries are managed efficiently and fairly, while also helping to safeguard critical infrastructure for Australia’s leading telecommunications organisation.
What You’ll Do- Lead Damage Claim Investigations: Take ownership of a portfolio of small damage claims, using advanced research and investigation techniques to gather facts, review evidence, and confirm details through a variety of digital tools.
- Collaborate Across Stakeholders: Work closely with internal teams, property owners, councils, and third parties to ensure accurate, timely claim resolutions and to prevent future issues.
- Apply Legal Expertise: Utilise your understanding of legal frameworks—including Common Law and the Telecommunications Act—to build robust claims, preserve evidence integrity, and maximise recovery success.
- Negotiate and Resolve: Confidently negotiate settlements with insurers, solicitors, and other parties, always striving for fair and positive outcomes.
- Educate and Prevent: Proactively engage with stakeholders to share best practices on preventing damage, such as promoting ‘Before You Dig’ initiatives.
- Maintain High Standards: Ensure all records, databases, and systems are updated accurately, supporting audit requirements and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience conducting legal research and managing evidence to build compelling cases.
- Meticulous approach to detail
- Strong written communication skills for preparing claims and managing disputes.
- Ability to work seamlessly in a hybrid team environment and adapt quickly to new technologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Office 365, especially Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Bonus: Familiarity with telecommunications networks and internal systems is a plus.
- Maximising cash recovery and resolving disputes efficiently.
- Delivering timely, accurate settlements and maintaining best-in-class record-keeping.
- Helping protect critical infrastructure through proactive education and stakeholder engagement.
