We are looking for an experienced IMS Operations Engineer to join our Managed Services team. The role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IMS, CS, UDM, and Fixed Network domains. The successful candidate will provide advanced second-level support, ensure high network availability and service continuity, and drive the effective resolution of technical issues within agreed service levels. The role also involves supporting network integration, migrations, new deployments, and cross-domain troubleshooting while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
What you will do- Provide second-level operational support for IMS, CS, UDM, and Fixed Network domains.- Support network integration activities, project implementations, and acceptance procedures for new nodes and services.- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and configuration issues within agreed SLAs.- Perform advanced troubleshooting, fault isolation, and root cause analysis for complex network issues.- Ensure timely responses and effective decision-making during critical incidents and major outages.- Manage Customer Service Requests (CSRs) end-to-end in coordination with customer support teams.- Validate and ensure the quality and accuracy of technical solutions before their implementation on the live network.- Assess and review project documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, ATPs, and related technical deliverables.- Validate test cases and ensure alignment with the current network architecture and operational scenarios.- Lead and coordinate the introduction of new services or nodes while minimising risks and operational impact.- Coordinate and lead cross-domain troubleshooting activities involving multiple network domains, such as EPC and IP networks.- Conduct periodic audits and proactively identify changes in traffic profiles that may require corrective action.- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency enhancements.
What you will bring- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.- 3-5 years of experience in Voice Core and IMS operations and support.- Strong understanding of 2G, 3G, LTE, IMS, and EPC network architectures, protocols, and signalling flows.- Solid knowledge of 3GPP standards and telecom protocols, including SIP, Diameter, BICC, SIGTRAN, CAMEL, MAP, and related technologies.- Hands-on experience with Ericsson Core and IMS products, including MSC, STP, DSC, SBG, CSCF, MTAS, IPWORKS, EME, HLR, HSS, CUDB, and UPG.- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.- Ability to work rotational shifts, including morning, evening, and night shifts, as required.- Strong customer focus, ownership, accountability, and teamwork skills.- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and in critical operational situations.- Experience with network automation, scripting, or operational digitalisation is a plus.- Practical knowledge of Python or other programming languages is a plus.- Knowledge of ITIL-based operational processes, including incident management, problem management, and change management is a plus.
