The Bid Solutions Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the success of high-value, strategic bids and proposals.
This role is responsible for:
leading the end-to-end bid process,
managing complex opportunities across multiple BU sectors,
working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop compelling, customer-focused responses, and
supporting the national sales team in growing new and retaining existing business.
The role provides leadership in the development of bid responses, to present consistently high-quality professional bid responses to the marketplace. The Bid Solutions Manager is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on contributor, capable of juggling multiple deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. The Bid Solution Manager’s ability to see the big picture, keen attention to detail and resilience will be vital to their success in the position.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the full lifecycle of bids, from opportunity registration through to submission.
Ensure high quality, professional tender responses that are delivered on time, are customer focused, comply with TGE policies and address the customer specifications and objectives.
Develop and implement bid strategies and win themes tailored to the customer’s needs and TGE business objectives.
Coordinate inputs from subject matter experts, sales teams, legal, pricing, and operations to ensure timely and accurate contributions.
Write, edit, and review content to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with customer requirements and TGE branding. Ensure superior and appropriate writing standards.
Chair bid kick-off, review, and governance meetings, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
Ensure bid submissions comply with all customer instructions, evaluation criteria, and internal governance processes.
Maintain and regularly update bid content within the library to improve accessibility and streamline information retrieval for future submissions.
Analyse, interpret and provide recommendations to address customer objectives and facilitate the resolution of issues in the development of bid responses.
Provide support to junior bid team members.
Identify new information and trends in responding to bids and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Capabilities:
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to craft persuasive, customer-centric responses.
High attention to detail with strong editing, proofreading, and formatting capabilities.
Deep understanding of bid governance processes, compliance, and risk management.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite software tools.
Knowledge of the logistics industry and latest industry trends is ideal but not mandatory.
Basic knowledge of formal contract terms and language.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Degree Qualified in Business / Logistics / Sales or Marketing discipline or equivalent (preferred)
APMP certification (Foundation or above) is highly desirable.
Experience: Proven experience (5+ years) in end-to-end bid management in a senior or lead capacity.
Professional: Membership of a relevant Association highly regarded.
