Job Description

The BI Developer will design, develop, and maintain high-quality paginated reporting solutions using SSRS / Power BI Report Builder, and deliver Power Apps components that integrate commentary and insights across Power BI assets. This role focuses on producing performant, print-ready reports and enabling business users through intuitive, well-governed reporting and application experiences.

The position requires designing, developing, and deploying paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder and SSRS Report Builder, while also building dynamic and interactive reports through parameters, filters, and expressions. They must ensure accurate pagination, structured headers and footers, and optimal tablix layouts for print accuracy and usability. The role also involves optimising report layouts for performance and maintainability, applying best practices across charts, tablixes, subreports, and grouped summaries, and creating or consuming shared datasets in SSRS using Power BI semantic models. In addition, the Power BI Developer will develop Power Apps modules that integrate commentary data from lists, paginated reports, and Power BI reports published to the Power BI Service, while ensuring all work adheres to enterprise BI standards, security controls, and governance practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with SSRS / Power BI Report Builder.
  • Solid understanding of paginated reporting concepts and print optimisation.
  • Experience working with Power BI datasets and semantic models.
  • Proficiency with report expressions and parameterised reporting.
  • Experience developing or integrating Power Apps with Power BI and reporting assets.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail in data accuracy, formatting, and usability.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Power BI Service deployment and governance.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint lists as data sources.
  • Exposure to enterprise BI standards or regulated reporting environments.
