The Associate Strategy Consultant supports the delivery of technology strategy and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) consulting engagements by conducting research, analysis, stakeholder engagement and documentation under the guidance of Senior and Principal Strategy Consultants. The role contributes to the development of customer strategies, roadmaps, governance frameworks and risk outcomes while building capability across consulting methodologies, enterprise technology and regulated environments. Working with a broad range of customers and industries, the Associate Strategy Consultant develops the skills and experience required to take on increasing responsibility and progress within the consulting practice.


Requirements

What you'll do:

  • Support the preparation of consulting proposals, tenders, presentations and customer research activities.
  • Conduct research, analysis and stakeholder engagement to identify business needs, develop insights and support consulting engagements.
  • Assist with the development of customer strategies, roadmaps, governance frameworks and practical recommendations.
  • Support the facilitation of workshops to gather business, technology, process and data requirements.
  • Contribute to commercial, procurement and go-to-market activities, including evaluation of vendor responses.
  • Support organisational change, stakeholder education and implementation activities to embed new ways of working.
  • Assist with the delivery of GRC engagements, including gap assessments, documentation development, governance activities and remediation planning.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists to develop practical, risk-based recommendations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders while actively developing consulting, strategy and GRC capabilities.

What you'll bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Approximately two years' experience in a consulting, advisory or relevant technology environment.
  • Exposure to strategy consulting, technology transformation or Governance, Risk and Compliance activities.
  • Australian Citizenship with eligibility to obtain an AGSVA security clearance; Baseline or NV1 clearance is highly regarded.
  • Interest in Defence, government and other regulated industry environments.
  • Understanding of governance, risk and compliance principles and frameworks, including familiarity with the ACSC Essential Eight.
  • Foundational knowledge of enterprise technology environments, cloud platforms, cyber security and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesise complex information into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively within a consulting team and produce high-quality client deliverables.
