About the role:
The Associate Director, Marketing, is a pivotal role within our business, working within a cross functional team, you will use your marketing expertise and project leadership skills to help shape our commercial strategies, including our annual brand planning process. Reporting to the Snr Business Unit Director, you will work in close partnership with fellow core brand team members, and colleagues in Sales and Medical, to ensure the success of the portfolio, acting as Lead when the Business Unit Director is not available.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Marketing leadership ( including but not limited to):
- Strategic thinker with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy.
- Owner of the development of insights based commercial strategies with cross-functional input and collaboration, including annual brand planning process and POA process.
- Leverages primary and secondary market research, analytics and customer insights to inform brand strategies and direct the tactical plan direct brand strategies and optimise marketing tactics,
- Responsible for analysing complex problems and situations and providing logical recommendations, including leading any required action planning.
- Takes a lead role within the cross-functional brand team and acts as a Brand Champion within our local and global organisation. Core member of the brand team and may take the lead when the BUD is not available.
- Demonstrates enterprise thinking when planning and executing against goals, ensuring a focus on patients, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Plays an important role in representing the business at professional events.
- Highly experienced in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities through sound business judgement and clear decision making. In-depth ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional/channel marketing and business plans.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets is required, including P&L responsibility.
Strategic stakeholder engagement (including, but not limited to):
- Establishes and grows impactful relationships, maintaining a focus on key internal stakeholders and key opinion leaders locally and nationally.
- Communicates effectively and influences a diverse range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Ability to successfully work with external agencies, including advertising, public relations, and medical education vendors to lead the development of programs and materials.
- Leads the cross-functional partnership with sales leader to ensure the roll-out/ implementation of marketing material to support the in-field sales team.
- Leads a multichannel communications plan to ensure optimal channel selection, share of voice and maximised customer understanding of our clinical positioning.
- Utilises high level of business acumen in analysing and coordinating activities from identified industry.

People Leadership (if have a direct report):
- Manages a brand manager and fosters a high-performance culture by clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and measurable outcomes.

- Fosters an environment of trust and strong collaboration across the business unit, balancing the needs of the marketing team with broader team and enterprise objectives.
- Support the cross functional team to manage and lead change.
What you will bring to the role
You will be a highly experienced, tenured, and trusted marketing leader who thrives in an environment that enables empowerment to make great outcomes possible, and in turn, embrace a high level of accountability for leading multiple projects/priorities.
- >5 years of experience in marketing leadership experience, ideally within the biopharmaceutical industry working in speciality care, and previous experience as a senior pharmaceutical sales representative is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of marketing fundamentals, strategy, sales and commercial policies and practices.
- Strong ability to influence and lead without authority cross-functionally to drive successful outcomes.
- Experience with Advocacy, Community and National Health systems and services are preferred. Including, direct-to-Patient (e.g. Patient Ad Boards, consultancy arrangements etc).
- Advanced analytical skills and being able to identify, understand, and break down complex issues and problems into solutions that drive performance, with deep understanding of omni-channel engagement.
- Demonstrate excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple priorities.
- Strong emotional intelligence with a patient centric approach when problem solving.
- If people leader - Strong leadership qualities such as having the ability to attract, motive and retain talent and drive a culture of collaboration, engagement, and motivation.
- In-depth ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional/channel marketing and business plans.
- Previous experience in marketing research desired.
- Previous pharmaceutical launch experience is highly desired.
- Requires a BA or BS degree, preferably in the sciences or business-related disciplines, with Master’s or Postgraduate qualifications highly desirable.
