About the Role (your why)
As part of our Modern Platforms leadership team, the Associate Director – Core Services Transformation, Automation and Enablement plays a critical role in driving the transformation of our core services across Australia and New Zealand. You’ll lead the delivery of automation services, agile enablement, professional services, mode 2 public cloud operations, and technical operations centres.
This is a senior leadership role, responsible for guiding Modern Platforms toward our future operating model, focusing on advanced tooling, AI operations, extensive automation, agile alignment, cloud enablement, and fostering a team culture built on innovation and operational excellence.
Our offices are based in Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!
Please note that to be successful in this role you will need to be an Australian Citizen and be eligible for Baseline/ NV1 Security Clearance.
What you’ll do
At the moment, as Associate Director – Core Services Transformation, Automation and Enablement you will be focused on:
- Leading modern platform core services, automation, and enablement capabilities across A/NZ.
- Driving an “automation first” culture and developing roadmaps to meet current and future customer requirements.
- Establishing operational excellence in public cloud and platform service delivery.
- Implementing shift-left strategies and high security postures across operational teams.
- Overseeing capability leadership, resource planning, market representation, and professional services delivery.
- Managing financial performance, cost efficiency, and profitability of Microsoft Platforms.
- Collaborating with sales and market teams to support growth and develop customer propositions.
- Leading people development initiatives to prepare teams for future technology needs.
- Building enduring customer relationships and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

What you’ll bring
Required experience:
- 10+ years’ experience in the IT industry, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of ITIL services, Microsoft Wintel management, public cloud technologies, agile operations, and automation methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead complex, large-scale transformations and operational excellence initiatives.
- Strong financial management, strategic planning, and customer relationship skills.
- Excellent influencing, presentation, and communication skills with senior stakeholders.
Nice to have:
- Project management principles knowledge.
- Experience across Linux, databases, and additional platform technologies.
- Development qualifications or experience, including scripting and application development methodologies.
- ITIL v4 Foundation Certification.
