Job DescriptionThis Assistant Accountant role has strong projects accounting focus and will be part of the Record to Report (R2R) function across ANZ and Asia. You will partner with the business to deliver as a team, the monthly financial reporting; process improvements and commercial insights for SEEK across the APAC region.
To be successful in this position you will need to be an energetic self-starter with strong financials and analytical skills. The ideal background is someone with strong financial reporting skills; an ability to implement process improvements; and has strong commercial acumen to deliver corporate analysis and valuable insights to assist senior stakeholders with business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver financial reporting to the Finance Controls and Finance Business Partners, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, clear interpretation of actual results, communication of drivers and implications for future financial performance, while playing an active part in month end activities
- Deep understanding of projects accounting, including treatment of project costs across ANZ and Asia – working closely with the Projectsl R2R Manager and team to ensure accurate reporting and accounting treatment of project-related costs
- Be an active contributor, advocate and collaborator in the R2R Finance team vision
- Supporting R2R Managers to deliver strong financial controls and record financial results in-line with SEEK Group accounting policies and IFRS
- Work collaboratively across Finance teams to continuously improve the speed and automation of financial data capture, reconciliation, reporting, analysis and insight generation
- CA / CPA designation or equivalent or partly qualified
- Experience in a shared services environment dealing with cross border journal entry posting and month end closing activities
- Accounting experience with proven track record for accuracy in a team-based environment
- Experience in preparation and accountability for business unit P&Ls and balance sheets
- Self-starter with the ability to interpret and communicate financial insights to decision makers
- Passionate for enhancing business processes and information systems to optimise the capture of information
- An ability to manage large volumes of information and manipulate this through advanced Excel skills and data visualisation tools
- Strong interpersonal skills to build robust working relationships within a dynamic team environment
- An ability to manage your own workflow
- An exposure to personnel-specific accounting would be viewed favourably
