As a Business Manager/Project Manager - Vice President within Asia Pacific Asset Management Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting strategic initiatives, focusing on Transfer Agency and Middle Office functions. You will assist Program Managers in governance and stakeholder management, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization. This role offers you the chance to drive change, enhance processes, and contribute to a culture of excellence.
Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure objectives are met
  • Prepare and coordinate materials, plans, and presentations for governance meetings, stakeholder engagements, and executive updates, ensuring clarity and alignment with strategic goals
  • Establish and manage governance frameworks for each project, ensuring robust leadership and resource allocation
  • Facilitate effective communication and escalation processes regarding program status, implementation plans, management issues, priorities, and risks
  • Develop and track performance metrics to ensure quality and efficiency in project execution, maximizing impact while meeting financial targets
  • Act as a liaison between Asia functional teams (Sales, Investments, Client Services, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Technology, Finance) and external service providers to facilitate seamless integration and collaboration
  • Monitor and enhance control processes to proactively manage risk and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant standards, preparing and presenting project reports to senior management
  • Foster strong partnerships with global and regional managers to ensure consistency, share best practices, and provide thought leadership
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategic roadmaps for various projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within asset management operations and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in operations, business management, or project management, with expertise in Transfer Agency, Middle Office, and Fund Accounting
  • Proven track record in supporting large-scale strategic initiatives in the Asset Management industry
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project and JIRA
  • Strong financial and budgeting skills, with knowledge of investment processes and market practices
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, ensuring accountability and issue resolution
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • In-depth knowledge of investment management products in Hong Kong and Taiwan, including Mutual Funds and Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders in a matrix organization, with proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is preferred
