As a Multi-asset Investment Specialist in Asset Management, you will actively engage in maintaining and developing relationships between the investment desks and distribution and institutional teams. You will represent your investment team on business related matters, including, but not limited to marketing, product development, fund commentary and sales/retention strategy. Most importantly, we believe in doing 'first class business in a first class way'. Therefore, you should share our passion for creating an exceptional client experience and managing our business in an ethical and compliant way. You will be part of the Equity and Multi-asset investment strategy team in Japan, and report into the Executive Director, Head of Equity and Multi asset investment strategy team based in Japan.
Job Responsibilities

  • Cover multi asset fund and focus mainly on multi asset strategies. This role will be required to engage equity fund's business as necessary.
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers and other IS in New York, London and Hong Kong to work on business strategy, product strategy and distribution strategy for Japan.
  • Partner with the Client Advisors to pitch for new business and be the voice of the strategies in conferences, road shows, seminars and training. Engage with the sales teams across distribution channels to jointly develop distribution strategy, targets and tactical plans. Also be responsible for implementing guidelines and coordinating the on-boarding of new institutional or sub-advised mandates.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with clients on investment matters (i.e., portfolio results and positioning).
  • Conduct Quarterly/Annual account reviews and write commentary in fund reports.
  • Oversee and coordinate monthly portfolio and mutual fund reporting when required, including commentaries and performance data, working closely with internal teams that produce this content.


Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in multi asset or equity.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for wide range of Japanese client, from investment professionals to beginners.
  • Ability to act as a fiduciary, with strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Team player, combined with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent time management - able to prioritise issues and respond in a timely manner
  • Solid analytical and computer skills - Bloomberg, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communications in both Japanese and English


Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Client facing experience and/or investment decision making as fund manager is a plus.
  • Experience as product manager and/or investment consultant is also a plus.
  • Python coding skill is a plus.
  • Strong interest in AI usage is a plus.
  • CFA, or equivalent qualification is preferred
