Our Team & Opportunity
The Equity Investment Management Systems (EIMS) team services our global Investment Management Group (IMG) who manages our equity portfolios. Vanguard currently have $8.1
Trillions USD of asset under management in equity.
The team in Australia is responsible for providing software development and support services for our global IMG business consisting of the Equity Investment Group, Fixed Income Investment Group, with contributions to large modernization and digital transformation programs. We are looking to grow our team in the region through the addition of a senior engineer.
What We Are Looking For
Design, implement, and optimize backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, Java, and possibly Go.
Design, implement, and optimize front-end applications, including a legacy Java RPC thick client and modern React web apps.
A passionate Developer with broad knowledge in various methodology practices and concepts: full product life cycle, Agile methodology, DevSecOps principals etc
A strong and in-depth understanding of AWS, CI/CD practices, and modern development practices. Tooling such as Git/GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes etc.
Contribute to architecture planning, technical decisions, and solution design.
Identify performance bottlenecks, resolve production issues, and lead root cause analysis.
Drive automation testing and support team members with cross-story testing.
Collaborate with engineers across global teams in the US and UK to deliver complex solutions.
Specialization that will make an impact:
Strong investment management knowledge - FX, derivatives, portfolio management, and asset management.
8+ years of software engineering experience across both front end and backend with hands-on work across multiple languages
Proven ability to design and build APIs, microservices, and distributed systems at production scale.
Effective communicator who enjoys collaborating, mentoring, and contributing to technical leadership.
Can do attitude - proactive, energetic, and passionate about solving complex problems.
Ability to troubleshoot complex incidents, identify root causes across systems, and implement reliable, maintainable fixes.
