State Street’s Global Product organisation is leading an exciting period of transformation for the business and is recruiting for an APAC Offshore Fund Product Manager to join the team and help take the business forward.
Function
As APAC Offshore Fund Product Manager, you are responsible for the establishment and ongoing management of the suite of Offshore Funds available throughout APAC, with a focus on the Japan market. You will maintain and evolve the product definition, engage with clients and various internal stakeholders, and work closely with the Head of Offshore Fund Services to lead client solutioning and product enhancement efforts. You will be integral to the execution of the Offshore Fund strategy for APAC, and commercial growth and business development efforts. The role requires deep domain knowledge of Offshore Funds, in particular, Cayman Island-domiciled Funds distributed to the Japanese market, and collaboration with internal stakeholders across global functions, such as Global Delivery, Sales, Client Management and Technology. The role reports to the Head of APAC Custody Product Management.
The APAC Offshore Fund Product Manager will have responsibility for:
- Working closely with the Head of APAC Custody Product Management and Head of Offshore Fund Services to develop and execute the Offshore Fund strategy for APAC, including (where required) prioritisation and investment decisions to ensure the product offering is best-in-class.
- Documenting and maintaining the product definition and service standards for Offshore Funds and identifying areas of improvement in offering.
- Working with Global Delivery teams globally and regionally to drive process improvements and ensure high levels of service standards are maintained.
- With the Head of Offshore Fund Services, providing domain expertise in the day-to-day running of the business.
- Partner with the Chief Commercial Officer organisation (relationship management and sales) to drive revenue through direct client engagement and pitches to prospective and existing clients.
- Participate in industry groups across the region to drive market leadership and change.
Skills
- Subject matter expertise of Offshore Funds, with a focus on Cayman Island and Luxemburg-domiciled Funds, including broad knowledge and understanding of:
- The regulatory requirements and market landscape of each fund domicile; and
- Competitor offerings and product differentiators.
- Track record of engagement with complex institutional clients, defining and solutioning operating models and translating client requirements into clearly defined product specifications.
- Strong team player who is comfortable working across complex organisations and collaborating with partners to drive and influence outcomes within the timeframes and to the level expected from Offshore Fund clients.
- Working knowledge of technology infrastructures, operational functions and processes and servicing partners that support the Offshore Fund end-to-end value chain.
- Ability to effectively communicate, engage and influence at all levels within an organization.
- Ability to execute on product deliverables and strategic vision.
Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in Financial Services, with a focus on the Japanese investor market and Offshore Funds.
- Prior experience working in operations, technology and/or a client servicing function.
- Prior experience of successfully performing product manager, product development or operational leadership roles beneficial.
- Fluency in both English and Japanese beneficial.
