The opportunity
We’re a 100-person global AI company headquartered in Melbourne, helping businesses worldwide transform how they work with data, documents and capital.
As the capital advisory arm of Affinda Group, Vesparum partners with founders of high-growth technology companies to secure the capital they need to scale. We combine deep investment expertise with AI workflows to deliver faster, smarter and more efficient outcomes for our clients.
We are looking for a driven Analyst to join our Melbourne-based team who is curious about the intersection of finance, technology and AI. You’ll work closely with founders, investors and cross-functional teams across the group to shape growth transactions that fuel Australia’s next generation of tech success stories.
Why you will love it here
  • Impactful work: Your contributions will directly support the growth and success of Australia’s next generation of tech companies, helping founders secure the capital they need to scale.
  • Part of a global tech company: As part of Affinda Group, which includes three global tech businesses (Affinda, Draftable and Pathfindr), you’ll collaborate on AI transformation projects that are redefining how businesses manage information and capital. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to intelligent automation tools and cross-group innovation.
  • Tech start-up culture: We operate like a dynamic tech start-up, prioritising work-life balance with minimal work outside of business hours. Enjoy regular team breakfasts, fitness clubs, book clubs, office table tennis, and more, all in a casual dress code environment.
  • Grow into leadership: As an Analyst, you’ll have the opportunity to take real ownership of client relationships and play a key role in driving more strategic and complex projects.
  • Flexible work arrangements: We offer a hybrid work environment, allowing our team to split their time between our Melbourne office and home. Enjoy the flexibility and autonomy to manage your work week in a way that best fits your life.
What You’ll Do
As an Analyst, you will play a key role in executing successful capital raising transactions for our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the preparation of pitch materials and investor presentations.
  • Conducting in-depth company, market and financial research.
  • Building and reviewing detailed financial models and valuation analyses.
  • Preparing materials to support valuation discussions and negotiations.
  • Facilitating meetings with clients, investors and other advisors.
  • Managing the due diligence process, coordinating with external advisors as required.
  • Supporting negotiations to ensure valuation and terms are optimised.
  • Developing relationships with institutional investors, corporates, fund managers, investment banks, brokers and other market participants.
  • Taking increasing ownership of day-to-day client management activities.
  • Collaborating with our team and clients to deliver the best possible transaction outcomes.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives, including networking across Australia’s growth equity ecosystem, meeting potential clients and preparing proposals.
  • Partnering with Affinda’s AI and product experts on AI transformation and value creation projects, helping clients understand how technology and automation can enhance scalability, efficiency and investor appeal.
You’ll thrive here if you
  • Have a desire to continuously learn about new companies and industries.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and compelling advice to founders.
  • Have strong commercial acumen and an interest in Australia’s venture capital and growth equity ecosystem.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in commerce, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Have approximately 3+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance or a related field.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
