NTT DATA is seeking expressions of interest from experience AI Governance Consultants. We’re seeking a forward‑thinking AI Governance Consultant to help shape how our Client's organisation responsibly designs, deploys, and oversees AI technologies. The AI Governance Consultant will support the accelerated design and implementation of the enterprise AI operating model, AI governance framework, and supporting artifacts. This role works closely with accountable business leaders, functional owners, and technology teams to define how AI is governed, designed, delivered, and adopted across the enterprise. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, responsible for developing frameworks, tools, templates, and roadmaps, while supporting organisational change management (OCM) and communications to drive alignment and adoption.
The project is based in Perth but we are open to candidates from other states who may be willing to relocate or travel.
Key Responsibilities
AI Governance
- Support the definition and maturation of the enterprise AI governance framework, including:
- Decision rights and accountability models
- Policies, standards, and controls for AI development and use
- Responsible AI, risk, and compliance considerations
- Develop governance artifacts such as:
- Governance models and operating guides
- Policy templates, standards, and playbooks
- Intake, prioritisation, and approval processes
- Collaborate with legal, risk, compliance, security, and technology stakeholders to ensure alignment.
AI Operating Model
- Accelerate the definition of the enterprise AI operating model, including:
- Organisational structures and role definitions
- Engagement and funding models
- Demand intake and delivery workflows
- Integration with existing operating models (IT, data, digital)
- Work with accountable operational, functional, and technology leaders to define:
- Domain-level AI vision and objectives
- Target-state capabilities
- Roadmaps aligned to enterprise AI strategy
- Support alignment between business domains and enabling technology teams.
AI Strategy & Architecture Enablement
- Support the translation of enterprise AI strategy into actionable operating and delivery models.
- Contribute to the definition of:
- AI architecture principles and guardrails
- Target-state AI capabilities and platforms (in collaboration with architecture teams)
- Ensure governance and operating model decisions are aligned to architectural direction and scalability.
OCM & Communications
- Support organisational change management activities related to AI adoption, including:
- Stakeholder mapping and impact assessment
- Communications planning and messaging
- Enablement materials and adoption playbooks
- Develop clear, executive-ready content to support awareness, alignment, and decision-making.
- Partner with communications and change teams to ensure consistency and clarity.
Delivery & Execution
- Develop and manage workplan deliverables, timelines, and dependencies for assigned workstreams.
- Produce high-quality, reusable artifacts, including frameworks, templates, and documentation.
- Support workshops, working sessions, and leadership reviews.
- Provide regular progress updates and risk identification to the AI Enterprise Strategy & Governance Lead.
Required Experience & Skills
- 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Enterprise operating model design
- AI, data, or digital governance
- Technology or business transformation consulting
- Demonstrated experience designing governance frameworks and operating models in large, complex enterprises.
- Strong understanding of AI lifecycle concepts, including model development, deployment, and risk management.
- Experience working across business, technology, and control functions.
- Proven ability to produce executive-level artifacts and presentations.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and accelerating outcomes in an interim environment.
