Your new role 

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Pricing Team as an Actuarial Analyst.  We are looking for an experienced and talented individual to join our Pricing team, as we expand our actuarial and pricing function.  

Reporting to the Pricing Manager you will perform actuarial calculations to assist the relevant business units obtain and manage a profitable business by supporting the work of the Senior Management. 

In this position, you will be responsible for: 

  • Knowing and applying actuarial and statistical pricing techniques 

  • Carrying out data analysis and responsibility for specific outputs 

  • Demonstrating ability to apply reasonableness checks and sound judgment to pricing outputs 

  • Assessing impact of pricing on key profit drivers and performance metrics 

  • Drafting pricing recommendations to be peer reviewed by more senior actuaries 

  • End to end responsibility for rating deployment, working alongside Pricing Implementation Team 

  • Taking initiative to recommend changes to existing pricing processes 

  • Be part of QBE’s Modernisation journey 

 

About you 

  • Your sound knowledge and experience from a General Insurance pricing background or an Actuarial Related Tertiary qualification 

  • Experience with SAS and Python preferred but not required 

  • Ability to apply a range of statistical and actuarial techniques to solve technical pricing problems 

  • Ability to extract, analyse and interpret data from several sources and resolve complex issues 

  • Strong communication skills, including explaining complicated concepts in a simple way
