SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

We are now inviting applications for the role of Accounts Receivable Administrator, fully based onsite our Derrimut head office. The role will be responsible for supporting the credit control function by monitoring collection process with customers and sales force by collaborating with other teams to resolve billing issues, setting up new customer accounts and following up on outstanding balances, managing and reviewing credit limits as well as debtors in order to minimise financial risk and secure the financial position of Jotun in accordance with Jotun’s business strategy by recommending and implementing effective collection strategies. The Accounts Receivable Administrator will report to the Finance Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor collection, customers, and sales force activities to minimise overdue and stolen days by collecting monies due for goods in a timely fashion in accordance with Jotun trading terms and guidelines.

  • Maintain records of outstanding debtors and make arrangements for follow up as required for legal recovery processes and assist in organising monthly credit meetings with the sales force to minimise the company’s credit risk.

  • Identify debts which are potentially bad or doubtful and liaise with the Finance Manager on the best course for resolution.

  • Analyse financial information and set credit risk categories and credit limits, and authorising the release of orders on hold to ensure bad debts are kept to a minimum and cash is collected in accordance with the Jotun credit policy.

  • Organise and monitor monthly credit meetings, including follow-up from customers and sales force on their payment/settlement commitments.

  • Process payments against customer’s accounts by offsetting specific items as detailed on the customer remittance as well as monitor and control debts within the agreed credit term to customers to reduce the company risk exposure.

  • Monitor the credit limits and payment trends of various customers by reviewing periodic reports to mitigate exposure to potential bad debts and by following up all claims that lack a corresponding credit note promptly.

  • Ensure account receivables' security by reviewing the AR confirmation with each customer as well as ensure that all documentation as requested by customers to resolve outstanding payments – i.e. POD’s, BOL’s, invoice copies – is provided promptly.

  • Provide the credit analysis report and credit information correctly and timely for the management team to make right decision as well as provide recommendations for any improvements to business processes that will improve collection processes.

  • Monitor customer orders on credit hold to either follow up on payment or for revision of allowable credit limits.

  • Regularly review credit limits and provide recommendations for changes.

Skills and job requirements:

  • Possess 2 years’ similar experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or collections.

  • Intermediate Excell skills.

  • Relevant tertiary degree.

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and organizational skills.

  • Must hold full working rights in Australia.

  • Exposure to CRM/ERP is preferred.

  • A CPA/CA qualification is a bonus.
