Job Description
Scope
This role is the main interface between Sirtex Medical Products and the referrers and treating physicians, within Victoria and Tasmania.
The primary objectives of this role are:
- To drive the growth of the Sirtex commercial dose sales across both Victoria and Tasmania business by:
- Increasing existing site commercial dose sales
- Opening new sites if required
- Developing competence of existing treating Interventional Radiologists and Nuclear Medicine Physicians
- To grow the number of patients referred to each existing implant center by increasing the number of referring Oncologists, Hepatologists, Hepatobiliary Surgeons (HPB Surgeons) and Colorectal Surgeons and Gastroenterologists.
- To identify and develop specialists in these sites as SIRT advocates and maintain these relationships
- To work with Interventional Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians and departments as required to meet the business objectives
- To foster lasting relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within the above disciplines through marketing relationship strategies and market segmentation.
This position assists Sirtex to achieve its objectives by conveying customer needs and requirements to the Company, and by providing training, information and advice to the customer, and reporting any incidents or complaints to allow Sirtex to meet its regulatory obligations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve a designated sales target by accurately identifying the potential of all Oncologists, Hepatologists, Hepatobiliary Surgeons and Colorectal surgeons, Gastroenterologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians and Interventional Radiologists; both existing and new, and work with these customers to drive patient referral and treatment with SIR-Spheres Y90 resin microspheres ;and therefore meet planned sales objectives utilising sales strategies as per the Australian business/marketing plan
- Develop new and maintain existing business relationships through regular contact and liaison with Oncologists, Hepatologists, Hepatobiliary and Colorectal surgeons, Gastroenterologists, Interventional Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians and nurses across the various specialities, to promote SIRT as a treatment option for selected patients
- Commitment to travel within both Victoria and Tasmania according to the needs of the business
- KOL identification, relationship development and maintenance
- Continually monitor and analyse opportunities for new business within the designated territory
- Work with individual hospitals and specialists, to develop and implement strategy to drive business with the assistance of the Regional Sales Manager (Vic/ NSW/ QLD/ Tas/ACT/ NZ)
- Open new sites with the assistance of the Regional Sales Manager
- Identify and develop new referrers and treating physicians
- Ensure effective management of territory by applying account level planning strategies, efficient time management, record keeping, resource utilisation and frequent customer visits that meet Company requirements consistent with the designated strategy
- Assist with and organise meetings and seminars to promote the Company image and objectives, and SIR-Spheres Y90 resin microspheres product and any other product awareness with the objective of achieving designated targets
- Evaluate and implement participation in hospital formularies, area health and state tenders for SIR-Spheres Y90 resin microspheres
- Actively participate in internal and external meetings and development activities to ensure sales skills, product and industry knowledge are maintained
- Participate in regular team meetings to ensure that all business opportunities are aligned
- Participate in mutually agreed field visits at various times throughout the course of the year; as well as regular one to ones with the Regional Sales Manager and Product Marketing Manager
- Assist with covering trade shows/symposiums/meetings
- Provide feedback in the form of a monthly report to senior management on sales activities, site and customer development initiatives, market intelligence, and customer feedback, all submitted timeously.
- Effective management of territory expense budgets
- Compliance with codes of compliance and business conduct
- Application of product knowledge
- Maintain territory management tool as required by Company
- Attendance in the radiology suite at procedure work ups and treatments on a regular basis is required
- Attendance at the multidisciplinary team meetings in the hospitals is required
- Other duties as assigned by the Regional Sales Manager (Vic/ NSW/ QLD/ Tas/ ACT/NZ)
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in science or similar degree
- Minimum of five years pharmaceutical or device sales experience is essential
- Proven success in hospital sales environment
- Strong communication skills and an ability to present clinical knowledge and information in a highly effective manner
- High level of organisation and planning
- Ability to be autonomous whilst working within a team environment
- Drive, passion, flexibility, initiative and motivation
- A professional credible manner
- Ability to establish sound interpersonal relationships with a variety of people, both internally and externally
