Job Description:

As an Account Manager you will be responsible for managing and growing customer relationships while delivering exceptional customer service and commercial outcomes. This role focuses on account retention, revenue growth, contract management, stakeholder engagement, and identifying new business opportunities within the Queensland, Norther Territory and Pacific Islands region.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to customers, ensuring long-term partnerships and alignment between customer needs and company objectives.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccount Management & Customer Relationships
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and customer meetings.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Resolve customer concerns and escalations in a professional and timely manner.
Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and contract expansion.
  • Develop strategic account plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
  • Support tender submissions, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Drive growth within existing and new customer portfolios.
Commercial & Contract Management
  • Manage customer contracts, pricing agreements, and renewals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.
  • Forecast sales performance and maintain accurate CRM records.
Internal Collaboration
  • Work closely with commercial operations, applications, service, marketing, technical, and customer support teams.
  • Support product launches and implementation activities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Achievement of sales targets

Skills & ExperienceEssential
  • Tertiary qualifications in Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or related field.
  • Proven experience in Account Management, Business Development, or Sales.
  • Experience within diagnostic/life science industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large or strategic accounts.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience managing contracts and customer relationships.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable
  • Previous experience in Commercial Partner Management.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
