The Position

A healthier future. It is what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That is what makes us Roche.

The focus of the Customer Success Community is to deliver on Roche Diagnostics Australia (RDA)’s annual financial targets (total sales and operating profit), whilst operating in a customer focused team who can think and act both short and long term, achieving a triple win for customers, patients and RDA.  The only way this can be achieved is through enabling our customers to succeed by providing them with our market-leading solutions.

The Account Manager role is a key contributor to achieving success, through strong sales and commercial acumen that delivers exceptional results in the field. Data analytics, market assessment, proactive sales analysis and CRM solution utilisation will be key to successful execution.

As a member of the Customer Success Community, you will have a responsibility towards supporting the success of the entire community and are required to think and operate at a higher level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive Sales Growth and Achieve Targets: Develop and execute commercial growth plans for the Molecular portfolio, focusing on key success metrics to achieve revenue goals.
  • Identify and Cultivate Opportunities: Discover new sales opportunities, build strong external and internal relationships, and strategically engage key decision makers in the molecular community.
  • Manage End-to-End Sales Cycle: Maintain high visibility at key accounts, lead commercial decision-making, negotiations, and solution design, and manage opportunities effectively using Salesforce CRM.
  • Lead Portfolio in Territory: Act as the primary contact and leader for all matters related to the molecular laboratory portfolio within your territory.
  • Enhance Brand and Thought Leadership: Represent Roche at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to improve brand visibility and engage potential customers.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Marketing, Product Management, Service, and Support teams to identify key accounts, drive rapid uptake, and ensure a unified One Roche approach.
  • Embrace Culture and Develop Acumen: Engage in regular check-ins, contribute to the continuous improvement of sales systems and processes, and actively enhance your professional commercial acumen.

Who You Are:

You are someone who wants to influence your own development. You are looking for a company where you have the opportunity to pursue your interests across functions and geographies and where a job title is not considered the final definition of who you are, but the starting point.

To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • 3 years’ experience of successful complex sales execution in the molecular laboratory portfolio (or associated diagnostics industry portfolio) with a passion for ensuring the success of our customers
  • Established knowledge of the molecular laboratory portfolio with a curious mindset of how to continue to grow, expand and protect the portfolio in a highly competitive market
  • Strong understanding and experience of Public and Private Procurement methodologies
  • A mindset that can deliver change through confident adoption and demonstration of new ways of working with deep analysis of commercial data to understand one's market and territory
  • An ability to make complex subjects simple to understand and execute on through storytelling
  • Availability to travel interstate and nationally to proactively support your team in the field as required and be highly visible within RDA
  • Experience working in a molecular laboratory is required
  • Commit to owning your professional development
  • The ability to think and plan strategically
  • Ideally be able to work in an agile way using agile methodologies
  • High computer literacy and technical ability

A valid driver’s license is essential.

In return, you will be provided with a rewarding and challenging role, a supportive environment in which you can grow and develop your skills, the opportunity to work for a market-leading organisation, and a competitive remuneration package.

This role is only open to candidates that have full eligibility to live and work in Australia.

We do not accept any unsolicited resumes or enquiries from recruitment agencies- Roche has a dedicated in-house Talent Acquisition team.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
