What You’ll Be Doing:
As an Inside Sales Account Manager, you’ll manage a state-based customer portfolio primarily through phone, Teams, and occasional face-to-face meetings. Your role supports our broader SME customer base, focused on relationship management, retention, and new business development.
🔹 Account Management Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a designated customer portfolio
- Build strong, long-term relationships through regular contact and call cycles
- Drive customer engagement, retention, and satisfaction
- Implement General Rate Increases (GRI) and manage rate-related discussions
- Handle freight compliance, contract negotiation, and customer off-boarding if required
- Address queries and escalations, including quotes, vendor forms, and stop trades
- Deliver insightful business reviews and manage customer reporting
🔹 New Business Development:
- Conduct cold calling and lead generation campaigns
- Onboard new customers and manage operational handover, including Dangerous Goods
- Generate and share tailored rate offers through DocuSign
- Guide new customers on our shipping platform ‘MyTeamGE’
- Support ‘unmanaged’ customers within Tasmania where needed
🔹 CRM & Sales Process Excellence:
- Maintain accurate records and activity tracking in Salesforce
- Ensure call cycle frequencies and contact details are up to date
- Monitor and influence share of wallet performance
- Support sales campaigns and participate in trade shows or interstate travel as required
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in inside sales, customer account management, or business development
- Comfortable managing phone-based and digital client relationships
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
- Highly organised, driven, and passionate about customer success
- Ability to analyse trends and offer tailored solutions to customer needs
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative, results-driven environment
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- A degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or Logistics (desirable)
