The Team:
We’re hiring an Account Executive (New Business) to join our  fast growing and vibrant Japan office, reporting to our Japan Sales Director.

The position sits within our Sales team focused on new business and the expansion of our footprint through strategic logo acquisition and market penetration. Within the role you would develop and execute the sales strategies to showcase and build demand for Celonis’ leading Process Intelligence Platform and resulting business value to be unlocked. Our Sales team collaborates closely with Value Engineers, Business Development Representatives, and other cross-functional teams to identify and capture high-value new business opportunities.

You will become part of a dynamic team from a variety of backgrounds that has, above all, three things in common: curiosity, drive and the desire to make an impact. 

The Role:
The primary objective of the role of Account Executive (New Business) is to build and expand market presence by capitalizing on untapped opportunities within the Steel, Trading, Consumer Goods and Retail industry sector across Japan. 

The role will position you as our expert within a dynamic Industry vertical, driving the engagement strategy with the leading companies in these markets.


The work you’ll do:

Discover and cultivate new business opportunities within a designated set of accounts within your assigned client portfolio.

  • Establish and strengthen connections across various levels of the organization, engaging with executives and decision-makers to understand their needs.
  • Comprehend the strategic and operational plans and requirements of your target accounts and proficiently articulate and demonstrate how Celonis can address them.
  • Lead the sales journey, adhering to a structured approach through prospecting, initial contact, qualification, client engagement, platform demonstrations,  needs analysis, solution proposal, negotiation and ultimately closing deals.
  • Collaborate with Value Engineering or personally conduct comprehensive presentations and demonstrations tailored to specific use cases, showcasing the value of our solutions.
  • Forge strong partnerships, particularly with leading consulting firms, SaaS partners, and the Big4.
  • Work closely with your team, which includes business development representatives, value engineers, partner managers, and marketing specialists, to ensure seamless collaboration and success.

The qualifications you need:

Demonstrated success in Software as a Service (SaaS)and consultative selling, particularly in roles focused on cultivating and landing new business.

  • Proven ability to navigate complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers.
  • Track record of selling enterprise-level software applications to C-level stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of business processes and KPIs (e.g. in Finance, Supply Chain)
  • Experience collaborating with partners, such as consulting firms or providers of enterprise technology solutions.
  • Native Japanese speaker with proficiency in English. 
  • Consulting experience and or the ability and experience to position and pitch business outcomes is an advantage.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast moving, ever changing, high growth environment and approach challenges with positivity, creative thinking, and a growth mindset
