Join our dynamic US-based in-house 401(k) Admin team as an 401(k) Operations Specialist. This role is perfect for individuals looking to grow their career in Retirement Plan Administration. You will support the administration of our 401(k) plans and contribute to delivering exceptional service to our participants.
As a 401(k) Operations Specialist within our Retirement Plans Administration team, you will be instrumental in providing top-notch service and support to our plan participants. Your role will involve working closely with a dynamic team to manage data, verify benefits eligibility, supervise payroll procedures, and address participant inquiries. Your contributions will be crucial in upholding the integrity and efficiency of our 401(k) operations, thereby directly influencing the financial well-being of our participants.
Job responsibilities
- Assist in executing retirement administration processes and controls, ensuring a positive customer experience and adherence to service level agreements.
- Support activities such as data management, benefits eligibility validation, payroll management, vendor oversight, and year-end processes.
- Collaborate with team members on projects and provide support as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Help develop and maintain procedures and training documentation.
- Contribute to the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of work while adhering to plan requirements, regulations, and control standards.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of participant communications.
- Support the Operations team in responding to internal and external audits of retirement plans.
- Participate in projects, change implementations, and the annual book of work, contributing to the overall success of the Retirement Operations team.
- Research and Respond to participant inquiries.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 1+ years of experience in 401(k) plan administration or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset.
- Good judgment and analytical skills to assess situations and determine appropriate actions.
- Eagerness to learn and improve processes, with a focus on documentation and communication.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage work effectively during peak periods.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, and familiarity with systems used in a Retirement Operations setting.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience with 401(k) administration is a plus but not required.
