Launch your career with purpose. Grow with guidance. Thrive in a role matched to your strengths.

We’re excited to open applications for our 2026 Graduate Intake!

Our Why

Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people’s lives and help organisations use the power of tech to innovate and grow.

Joining Datacom as a Graduate

For this intake, instead of applying for individual roles, you only need to apply once. Our Early Careers team will work closely with you throughout the process to match you to the most suitable graduate opportunity based on:

  • Your interests
  • Your strengths
  • Your academic background
  • The needs of our business

This means you get to explore what’s possible — and we help you find the role where you’ll shine.

What roles could I be matched to?

We're still confirming which graduate roles will be available for this intake; however, usually we have roles such as:

  • Software Development
  • Cloud & Infrastructure
  • Business Analytics
  • Business Analsyt
  • Project Coordination
  • Corporate IT Functions
  • Cybersecurity
  • Networks
  • Hardware
  • Tech Support

You’ll be hired directly into a specific team and role — no rotations, no uncertainty — with clarity and a career path from day one.

About our Early Careers Programme

As a graduate, you’ll be supported by our dedicated Early Careers Team throughout your first 12 months. We’ll guide you through onboarding, mentoring, events, workshops, and ongoing development opportunities—ensuring you’re set up for success while you settle into your new permanent role.

What is the Talent Elevator?

Your journey begins with our Talent Elevator induction: a week‑long experience where we fly our entire Early Careers cohort to one location (usually Sydney) for learning, connection, and fun. You’ll meet your peers and our leaders, build key professional skills, and start your career with confidence.

Why join us here at Datacom?

Datacom is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest suppliers of Information Technology professional services. We have managed to maintain a dynamic, agile, small business feel that is often diluted in larger organisations of our size. It's our people that give Datacom its unique culture and energy that you can feel from the moment you meet with us.

We care about our people and provide a range of perks such as social events, chill-out spaces, remote working, flexi-hours and professional development courses to name a few. You’ll have the opportunity to learn, develop your career, connect and bring your true self to work. You will be recognised and valued for your contributions and be able to do your work in a collegial, flat-structured environment.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need to know everything already — we’re looking for graduates who are:

  • Curious, motivated, and eager to learn
  • Problem‑solvers who enjoy tackling challenges
  • Strong communicators and team players
  • Passionate about building a career in tech

Requirements
  • Full Working Rights in Australia (please note majority of our roles require citizenship due to the nature of our client base)
  • Currently living in Australia
  • Available full time from Mid-April/Early-May 2026
  • Please note: These are entry level opportunities, ideal for people just starting out in their careers. If you have relevant experience greater then 12 months, then you may be better aligned to an Associate level role

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
