Leads proactive media relations for effective altruism, including pitching stories, building journalist relationships, managing press inquiries, monitoring coverage, analyzing sentiment, supporting crisis communications, coordinating event press access, and developing spokespeople. The role also prepares media materials, provides news intelligence, and helps shape CEA’s public reputation across philanthropy, AI safety, global health, animal welfare, and related areas.

Own full-cycle recruiting for roles across the organization, including sourcing, screening, interviews, reference checks, offers, candidate communication, and pipeline tracking. Lead recruiting process-improvement projects, coach hiring managers and newer recruiters, support onboarding, enforce recruiting practices, and occasionally represent CEA at conferences or manage contractor engagements. The role is remote, full-time, and involves approximately four to five international trips annually.

Administer grants through Salesforce, communicate with grant recipients, conduct due diligence, review reports, maintain accurate grant records, and monitor grant impact. The role supports compliant, efficient grant processing and improves scalable grantmaking processes. It requires strong organization, attention to detail, clear communication, customer service, and commitment to the organization’s mission. Prior operations, grant administration, or Salesforce experience is helpful but not required.

Manage People Operations processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, contracts, expenses, payroll inputs, tax filings, benefits, HRIS data, and reporting. Maintain the handbook and knowledge base, administer HR systems, and support compliance activities. Lead process-improvement projects involving AI workflows, HR dashboards, and compliance calendars while coordinating with Finance, Legal, and Business Operations.

Leads either CEA’s special-events or virtual-program portfolio end to end, including strategy, event design, attendee and partner management, logistics, vendors, budgets, platforms, execution, measurement, and follow-up. The role requires independent ownership, strong project execution, clear communication, management experience, and the ability to build a team. Special Events emphasizes high-stakes in-person convenings, while Virtual Programs emphasizes scalable, data-informed experimentation.

Develop and maintain Salesforce solutions, integrations, Experience Cloud sites, automations, and custom applications. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, testing, debugging, security and compliance, documentation, user support, and continuous platform improvement. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to support events, courses, groups, grants, and community programs.
