What It's Like to Work at Cash App

I’ve always believed that the future of work is remote, and I think that being distributed is something that all organizations will embrace moving forward. I treasure that flexibility. My mornings are dedicated to family - my wife and 6 month old baby – and afternoons and evenings are for working. This works really well for me.

For most people, growth and development happens at a really gradual pace. Here it happens really fast! Six months is a long time for us. Our growth has really helped people realize a lot of their career goals that they didn’t think they were going to be able to achieve anywhere else or, at least, not in the next 10 years. It's so empowering to see!

Most of the people that I see interested in Cash App are attracted to the growth mindset we have. We’re looking for people who are willing to make mistakes, learn, and teach other people.

The ability to work with several other teams in a very involving and engaging manner--that's what makes Cash App a unique place to work. To complete some projects, we need the full participation of several teams, so figuring out requirements together and understanding, respecting, and addressing divergent perspectives has been fulfilling.

Cash App is very special in the sense that my lead is here to support me, making sure that I’m not blocked in what I need to do, and not micromanaging what I do. My lead is always there to talk. That symbiosis doesn’t exist in a lot of workplaces. I feel like I can create my own course here, and I have my lead to help me with the map.
