Cythera Cyber Security, a managed security services company headquartered in Melbourne, will be acquired by Bastion Security Group, a New Zealand-based provider of cybersecurity consulting services. Cythera says it offers subscribers constant cyber protection, threat detection and incident response services.

“This partnership is a coup for Bastion and the customers of both companies. Welcoming Cythera’s talented team to the Bastion family strengthens our service offering in New Zealand and expands our presence into Australia,” Eugene Gibney, founder and CEO of Bastion, said in a statement.

Alongside providing managed security services to Bastion’s New Zealand customers, the acquisition will increase Cythera’s growth in Australia’s markets for professional and managed security services. The combined entity will work to help organizations improve their security posture, offering a broader range of services to enterprise and government clients.

The acquisition is expected to close before year-end. Following the merger, Bastion Security Group’s offerings will encompass solutions for threat intelligence, governance, penetration testing, cyber strategy advisory services, risk and compliance, cloud and network security and managed security services.
