Position Details - Transport Allocator

As Lineage continues its transformation and growth, we’re expanding our high-performing transport team at our Hume Rd facility in Laverton North.

We are now seeking an experienced Transport Allocator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service to customers and drivers alike.

About the Role

As a Transport Allocator, you will play a crucial role in the smooth and efficient daily operation of our transport function.

You’ll be responsible for allocating and scheduling trucks in line with customer requirements, ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations and partnering closely with drivers, subcontractors, site leaders and operations teams.

Your ability to communicate clearly, solve problems quickly, and prioritise effectively will help ensure we continue to deliver industry-leading service while keeping our people, product and customers safe.

What You’ll Do

  • Allocate and schedule fleet and subcontractor trucks to meet customer delivery and pickup requirements.

  • Ensure CoR compliance by managing load weights, fatigue hours and vehicle requirements.

  • Support accurate data entry for planning, allocation and KPI reporting.

  • Build strong relationships with customers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, resolving queries and issues efficiently.

  • Partner with Operations and Site Leaders to maintain seamless transport and warehouse coordination.

  • Monitor performance, costs and fleet utilisation to support transport cost-to-revenue targets.

  • Uphold the highest standards of food safety, quality and legality in line with FSANZ, HACCP and regulatory guidelines.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and safe working practices.

What You Bring

Essential:

  • Experience allocating trucks in a transport or logistics environment (preferably with transport drivers).

  • Strong understanding of CoR, NHVR, fatigue and mass management requirements.

  • Solid knowledge of metropolitan and regional transport routing.

  • Experience managing customer relationships and resolving service issues.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and influencing skills.

  • Strong time management, organisation and IT skills (Microsoft Office, WMS, TMS).

  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work flexibly in line with operational needs.

Preferred (but not essential):

  • Experience with refrigerated palletised freight.

  • Understanding of Retail DC and Foodservice receival operations.
