Job Description
Acciona Agua is seeking expressions of interest from accomplished Process Engineer Leads with a proven track record in delivering complex water infrastructure projects, including large-scale desalination and advanced water treatment facilities.
This leadership role is central to the strategic design, execution, and stakeholder engagement required to drive high-impact projects across Victoria, Australia. This role is critical in supporting key tenders and future project delivery across the South Australia region.
Strategic Design Leadership
Lead the conceptual and detailed process design of major desalination and water treatment projects, ensuring alignment with sustainability, regulatory, and performance objectives.
Oversee advanced process modelling and simulation activities, including membrane system optimisation and integration of emerging technologies.
Provide high-level technical direction and review of engineering deliverables, procurement specifications, and design documentation.
Champion value engineering initiatives to enhance project efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and long-term operability.
Present complex design concepts and strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders and clients.
Project Execution & Governance
Direct the development and implementation of project documentation, including management plans, commissioning strategies, performance testing protocols, and O&M manuals.
Ensure seamless coordination between engineering, procurement, and construction teams to maintain design integrity and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead technical negotiations and clarifications with clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
Manage resolution of critical project issues through strategic analysis and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Oversee vendor engagement, equipment selection, and procurement processes to ensure alignment with project specifications and operational goals.
Stakeholder Engagement & Team Development
Act as a key interface between Acciona Agua and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring transparent communication.
Lead multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior engineers and promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Drive innovation through technical enhancements and process improvements that elevate project competitiveness and sustainability.
Contribute to high-level client proposals, presentations, and strategic defences.
Required Skills and Competencies
Degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
Extensive experience (5+ years) in senior technical roles within water infrastructure, with a focus on process engineering and project leadership.
