QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:
- Must have previous experience with dimensional studies (gauge accuracy, gauge R&R, capability, etc.)
- Must have at least 2 years' experience in an automotive environment (GM, Ford, FCA, Toyota - Plastics) and be familiar with PPAP submissions, OEM launch process and APQP (PFMEA, Control plans, etc.)
- Good understanding of product/process characteristics (e.g. paint film builds, paint appearance, durability, process capability, etc.)
- Previous leadership experience required
- Must demonstrate strong organizational skills regarding overall workload scheduling
- Must be safety conscious and reliable
- Must have at least 1 year experience in a lab environment (preferably automotive) and previous experience reading - Must be familiar with GM, Ford, Stellantis, and Toyota physical, performance and appearance testing.
- Excellent communication skills (English - spoken and written)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong team player
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making and time management skills and interpreting blueprints, engineering standards, customer specifications, etc.
- Computer proficiency to include experience with Microsoft Office, data collection software, and Spin fire
- Completion of specialized courses in MSA, GD&T an asset
- CMM / laser scanner experience an asset.
- Willingness and availability to travel
MAIN DUTIES:
- Responsible for training and orientation of new employees
- Scheduling, prioritizing and supervision of lab testing activities to ensure timely completion
- Data analysis and review of data/test results with production, process and other internal customers
- Interacting with engineering, production, and quality concerning quality concerns or issues
- Continuous improvement projects
- Support of special test requests and production testing as required
- Other duties as required
