Your Role
Reporting line to the Global Payroll Manager, the Global Payroll Specialist will assist incoordinating the end-to-end payroll process. This role will ensure the accurate, streamlined, and efficient processing of payroll across all Megaport international entities. In this role, you will gain exposure to global payroll functions and have the opportunity tobe part of process improvement within the Payroll function.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of end-to-end fortnightly, monthly and off-cycle payroll for all Megaport employees. 
  • Collate all payroll changes on a monthly and fortnightly basis (i.e. new starters, contract variations, leavers, absence, commission, etc.). Summarise the data and submit the payroll input to the local external payroll providers.
  • Review the pre-pay reports, collaborate with the external payroll provider if adjustments are needed, and then approve the reports.
  • Follow and maintain the internal procedures.
  • Interpret and understand awards, agreements and individual contracts for all markets.
  • Prepare, reconcile and lodge superannuation, including 401(k) plans, UK pension and retirement funds, ensuring compliance with state and regional legislation. 
  • Payroll tax returns lodgement.
  • Assist with internal and external payroll queries and address any queries from the regional accountant.
  • Assist with Auditors' requests globally.
  • Manage all employee leave queries, ensuring compliance with relevant leave policies.
  • Any other ad hoc activities as required.

What We Are Looking For

  • At least five years of recent payroll experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in global payroll management and collaboration with external payroll providers worldwide.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail are a must.
  • Driven, motivated, and highly organised. A commitment to providing excellence in customer service. 
  • Intellectually curious and excited about learning new things. Aptitude to learn and understand new software and applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft MS Word and Excel.

Nice to have, but not essential traits and experience

  • Experience using ADP and Trinet payroll systems would be advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in G Suite.
  • Used to work in a remote or Hybrid environment.
